Longer lengths can be troublesome to take care of and shorter lengths may not fit different facial shapes or looks as well but medium hairstyles seem to be just right for a lot of women. Medium length hair is probably the most versatile choice out there for today’s modern women. These hairstyles vary between long hairstyles and short hair styles. Many women find a mid-length haircut is a great option for many different types of hair texture, rather it be thin and brittle, thick, or just right. Medium hairstyles also are very versatile in the different number of updos, bobs, and various other styles that can be combined with the hair to create some gorgeous looks that is easier to maintain than longer locks while providing looks that are more comfortable and more flattering than shorter hair cuts.

Medium hairstyles match most facial shapes well as there is just enough hair complimenting the facial region and improve other features. Hairstyles with hair length to the shoulders or a small bit above them bring out many facial features with many options for styling. The bob, the shag, and the straight cut are some popular mid-length hairstyles. One classic medium length cut is the bob. A bob is a haircut that’s all one length and ranges from chin length to shoulder length. Bobs can be curly or straight depending on your hair texture, and look fantastic either way. They’re versatile as well, and can easily be upswept for an evening look or left hanging freely for a cute, feminine look. Another great medium length cut is the shag. A shag cut involves cutting layers of various lengths into hair.

Medium length hairstyles are great for layering because of their versatility. Layering medium hair length correctly by framing the facial area often brings out a person’s eyes, lips, and other facial features in a non-obtrusive manner. A medium length cut can be worn curly, wavy or straight. For gorgeous curls, use a curl enhancing spray or mousse on damp hair and blow dry with a diffuser. To define particular strands, curl with a 1/2 inch curling iron or set on small hot rollers. There are so many ways to layer medium length hairstyles because it is long enough to go short in different areas and short enough to keep in others. The simple flow down medium hairstyle is popular because it is very simple. Just letting your hair flow down with either bangs down or parted with additional waves, ringlets, or curls at the ends.

Cosmetics can help you put your best face forward. They can emphasize the features that are naturally attractive and that set you apart. But wearing too much makeup (or applying it incorrectly) can have the opposite effect.

Here are six tips to help you use makeup to enhance your features while letting the natural you shine through.

1. When it comes to makeup, less really is more. How do you know if you are wearing too much? That’s a difficult question to answer because makeup is something you wear for yourself, and that means the amount of makeup that’s just right is going to vary from person to person. As a general rule, if you rarely go out without “your face on” because you feel as though you look very different without it, you may be wearing more makeup than you genuinely need to enhance your features.

If you decide that you would like to reduce the amount of makeup that you wear, it’s best to take it slow, especially if you rely on makeup to help you feel more confident and comfortable. Go more lightly on the eyeliner for a week or so, for example, until you get accustomed to the way you look with less eye makeup. Over time, you will likely enjoy seeing more of the natural you shining through.

2. When your body and skin are healthy, you may naturally feel as though you don’t need as much makeup, so the first step in achieving a natural look is to take good care of yourself and your skin. When your skin glows, you may hesitate before you put on any foundation at all, even if you are accustomed to wearing it every day.

To enhance your skin’s natural glow, drink plenty of water, which will help your skin retain moisture and elasticity. Use a good skin care regimen and always use the moisturizers and sunscreen recommended for your skin type on both your face and neck.

3. Experiment with using powder alone, instead of a heavy foundation. You might also want to try one of the mineral foundations on the market today. These foundations provide a more translucent coverage. Many of them do a good job of evening skin tone and hiding the undesirables, but they go on light enough that the look of your natural skin is not masked.

4. During the day, stick to a light eyeliner and neutral shadow. Save the darker colors for evening. The same goes for lips: choose a subtle shade for day wear. Save the darker lipsticks and liners for evening events.

5. Make sure to blend your cheek color and eye color very well. When you take the time to blend the makeup colors, the more obvious lines becomes shadows and highlights, which look much more natural, and which help define the natural contour of your face.

6. It might be fun to stop in at the cosmetics counter at your favorite department store. Many times, you can get a complimentary makeover or makeup lesson. Let the consultant or makeup artist know that you are particularly looking for techniques to accentuate your positive features.

Your makeup is as important to your finished look as the clothing you wear, in fact, it can actually be more important. We’ve all spotted women who didn’t have a clue how to apply their eye shadow. But we’ve also saw women who know how to apply it properly and they look put together and beautiful. Don’t you want to be one of those women? Of course - and we are going to give you some top tips so you can do just that.

Great news - putting your eye shadow on correctly really isn’t difficult at all. It really is just a matter of finding the right technique and look for you and your personal style. Don’t worry if it takes a few tries to get it right. Check out these tips:

1. Always apply a base coat on your eyes just as you do to the rest of your face. Loose power works or you can apply your foundation to the eye area. It gives a nice even palette to work with.

2. Blend, blend, and then blend some more. I can’t stress this enough. Try an experiment. Blend one eye and then just use a brush and apply the other eye. You’ll instantly know what I’m talking about and you’ll never forget to blend again.

3. If you want dramatic eyes, take your eye shadow brush, dip it into water, and then into the shadow, then apply. It will give you a much deeper, dramatic color.

4. If you have blue eyes, wear purple, violet, taupe, gray, deep blue, and black. Funky colors include fuchsia, turquoise, and silver.

5. If you have green eyes, wear purple, plum, forest green, brown, and khaki. Funky colors include light green, gold, and bright purple.

6. If you have brown eyes, wear champagne, copper, brown, apricot, khaki, and beige. Funky colors include royal blue, tangerine, hand hot pink.

7. Everyone can wear navy, powder blue, and charcoal. Fun colors include silver.

8. Apply a lighter shadow in the inner corner of the eye to reflect and make your eyes look younger.

9. If you want your eyes to appear larger, use a light color on the inner corner, and a darker shade in the middle of the eye area.

10. Practice until you get the application of your eye shadow down to a science. When you get good, your make up will look more natural and more polished.

11. Apply your dark shadow only to the eyelids from the lash line to the crease in the eyelid. Apply your medium shadow from just below the eyelid crease to the brow bone.

12. Highlight along the brow bone. Doing it this way will make your features stand out naturally and beautifully.

So there you have it. With these top tips you now know how to apply your eye shadow so you will look your best.

Remember that while you’re practicing all these steps, that you should take notice of what works best for you. Practice by yourself, or practice with a friend if you find it easier to ask someone else’s opinion.

And one more thing. If you make your face more youthful looking with wrinkle creams that gives results, then any make up that you have will be so much more effective.

Everyone wants to have the shiny, glossy hair that all the celebrities are showing off, but we all know they have their looked after by the professionals. Many of us can’t afford to go to the hairdressers every time we need to wash and have our hair styled so we cannot contend with the celebrities, instead what we can do is look after our hair. When our hair feels and looks good we feel good, hair is an important part of our appearance.

If you use hair straighteners on a regular basis even daily then you’re more than likely damaging your hair. Damaging your hair will definitely not help you get the shine you desire for your hair. Having split ends and super straight hair won’t help you get shiny hair. Shiny hair comes from love and care by you and with a little bit of help you will get the results you want.

Every person has a different texture to their hair and therefore there’s different ways in which to make your hair more healthy and shiny. There are three main different types of hair:

Fine Hair: look for a shampoo that has added wheat protein and polymers these help coat the shafts of your hair which will help it look thicker. There are spray volumizers on the market which can help make your hair look shiner and these are light so they don’t weigh your hair down.

Normal Hair: if your hair needs repairing use a shampoo that has silk amino acids in these will help repair your hair structure. To add more shine to your hair use specific creams and gels which you can rub into your palm and pat onto your hair.

Thick Hair: use a shampoo that contains pomades these will moisturise your hair as well make your hair shiny.

Other tips to make your hair shinier are as follows:

• Deep condition your hair on a weekly basis

• Try to avoid using styling products as they make your hair look dull

• Use heat-activated shampoo

• When you dry your hair, give it a blast of cool air when you’ve dried it this will seal the cuticles which help make your hair shiner

• Mix one teaspoon of honey with four cups of warm water, pour onto your hair when washed, do not wash off, dry as usual

• Don’t brush your hair when it’s wet as you can break and stretch it

• Wash your hair in cold water, if you’re not brave enough rinse it with cold water just before you get out

• Don’t use shampoo or conditioner which has Sodium Lauryl Sulfate or Sodium Laureth Sulfate in

• If you have oily hair don’t rub conditioner into your scalp, and make sure you rinse your hair thoroughly

• Have the ends of your hair cut every month

• Only use your hairdryer and hair straighteners when you really need to as they cause heat damage and dry your hair out

• Use mayonnaise and work it well into your hair like you would with conditioner and put a shower cap on your head to contain it, it will make your hair more manageable and less dry

Sometimes I think the world wants us to hate our own beauty. Women are told they are “shallow” if they care a lot about how they look. And we are always telling our children that beauty comes from who they are on the inside. I think we are partly right in our mode of thinking. But we are also doing ourselves a big disservice by stripping ourselves of one of our core pieces of identity…our beauty.

You see, God created us for beauty - to make it, see it, and be it. That’s why we love to nurture the beauty in our gardens, create beautiful scrapbooks, cards and gifts, or to maintain a beautiful home. It’s who we are. Once we understand and learn that, we can free ourselves to be who we were intended to be. We can delight in painting our nails or putting on shimmer lotion without feeling like we shouldn’t be enjoying these special delights. On the other hand, we need to keep perspective on our need and desire for beauty in our life.

True beauty never attracts attention to itself. It never misuses it’s purpose to nurture, create joy, or lend encouragement and happiness…to instead harm others, satisfy its own desires, or elevate itself above everything else.

There is a great book out by John and Stasi Eldredge called “Captivating” that will help you define how beauty plays a vital role in your life and in the make-up of who you were created to be.

Just remember that it’s okay to want to look beautiful or feel beautiful. It’s okay to tell your daughter that she is beautiful (not just on the inside) as long as you keep that beauty in balance with the character that will flow from it.

We do have a great responsibility to handle our God-given beauty as women in a moral, classy, and respectful manner. But in our quest to do this, let’s not take it away altogether.

Enjoy beauty and let it restore your soul as a lady. Don’t strive for a false “perfect” standard. For if you simply are who you are…. Then your true beauty will shine. Let it!

Today just like any other day, all beauty is within and without.. Let us bring our attention to Beauty. Let it be known, this beauty is not of a superficial nature.

I am not talking about the beauty that is made up in magazines, T.V., the runways or of any other external nature.

This Beauty is the Beauty within our true nature. Knowing that we have it and we are it and how we can nurture it! We can recognize this truth NOT my standing in front of the mirror and criticizing ourselves, yet looking at ourselves and at others through the eyes of the “God Within” or you may call it “Our True selves”.

Do you ever look at a baby and say “WOW! Look at how cute this or that baby Is?”. There is no judgment where babies are concerned. They are so close to God. NO real conditioning has taken place yet. So babies are neutral to themselves and others.

What does a baby have to do with us? Everything, because we were all babies once. We accepted ourselves and others unconditionally. We were in touch with the Beauty inside and outside. We were free. When we attune ourselves with the Beauty within, we let go of all judgments and criticisms we have of our physical nature and both our emotional and mental selves. We simply accept and live moment by moment in peace.

Remembering we always have choice, let us choose to be clear within and without, for we are worthy and deserving of living a beautiful and healthy life in everyway.

May the love and light of God and the Universe surround and protect you, your loved ones and the planet earth.

When we were kids, it had to be the golden age of sportscasting–Bob Murphy, Ralph Kiner, and Lindsey Nelson shared the Mets TV and radio chores; Marry Glickman was calling Giants, then Jets, games; Pat Summerall and Tom Brookshire were the best football tandem around; Curt Gowdy seemed to be at every major event imaginable; Dandy Don Meredith was cracking wise (and funny) in the Monday Night Football booth … but the best of the best (then and now) was Mary Albert, at the time the radio voice for the New York Knicks and New York Rangers.

It was kind of weird, actually, since I loathed the Knicks and loved the Rangers, so Albert’s signature “Yesssss!” when the Knicks netted a basket proved grating while his “Kick sa-a-a-a-ve and a beauty by Giacomin!,” in praise of the Blueshirts’ All-Star netminder, was music to my ears. Moreover, Albert had a great schtick and repartee with his color commentators: Bill “The Big Whistle” Chadwick (the Hall of Fame referee credited with inventing the hand signals for calling penalties) and Sal “Red Light” Messina (a fair-at-best goaltender who toiled in the Rangers minor league system for years).

The point? The next Albert–or Bob Costas, or Greg Gumbel–could be ready to emerge if only he or she had a chance. That chance has arrived thanks to RealLiveSports and the All-Sports Network, who’ve teamed up to bring aspiring young broadcasters a pair of invaluable tools of the trade, ESPN Play by Play and ESPN Sportscast.

Play by Play ($99.95), a portable sports audio system, helps youngsters go from spectators to broadcasters as they are transported to the sidelines to conduct interviews, provide their own play-by-play or color commentary, and enhance their reporting with sporty sound bites. A handheld microphone, built-in ESPN theme music, and a sound card with six recognizable sports sound bites help produce an authentic broadcast just like on TV, radio, or podcasts. Working equally well indoors or out, Play by Play can be used alone or with any iPod, MP3 player, or computer, as well as with a number of digital devices, including ESPN Sportscast ($49.95), a handheld AM/FM radio with digital display that lets kids listen to their favorite sports broadcasts while mixing in sound bites. With the option to broadcast through the speaker, earbuds, or Play by Play, listeners can incorporate popular ESPN phrases and theme music with the touch of a buttoner simply slide in the SportsBytes SoundCard for even more exciting sounds of the game.
