Most of the medicines offer more or less similar basic treatment to all forms of acne such as pimples, white heads, black heads or manulas. The main advantage of alternative treatments is that they will help to reduce the underlying factors of the acne manifestation. The treatment is primarily focused to avoid clogging and bacterial growth and some of the treatments also help to reduce the sebum secretion, also.

Apart from massages, aromatherapy suggests bathing in scented oils added water will help to minimize breakouts.

Alternative medicine is gaining more attention every day. The idea that one can heal their body, prevent physical symptoms and even treat them - naturally - is very appealing. It is especially appealing in the wake of some alarming findings on popular prescription medications which resulted in them being pulled from shelves due to health hazards.

While one should still approach alternative medicine with caution and thorough research, natural cures, remedies and herbal preparations still should be considered when researching the best options for treating various physical ailments that impact your quality of life.

Still regarded with some skepticism in the medical community, there are undeniably some truly remarkable and tangible benefits to be garnered from herbal preparations, as testified by many users of the array of natural health products available today. Herbal remedies and alternative medicines can help treat and alleviate symptoms ranging from pain and menopause to acne and depression.

Users of these herbal preparations and remedies most commonly are those who are health conscious, have had adverse reactions to traditional medications, or just have a holistic mindset and approach to their mental and physical health, longevity and proactivity in prevention.

With it’s increasing popularity and recognition, you are likely to see a rising number of new product offerings and also an increase in companies willing to put more money into research and development of new natural health products as their demand increases.

An interesting area of alternative medicine that is advancing rapidly is mercury detox treatment. Mercury is toxic to humans. We can be exposed to mercury in a number of ways, including the silver fillings in our teeth, ammunition, artificial flowers and wood preservatives.

High concentrations of mercury in the body have been shown to have many negative effects, including a deterioration of the central nervous system, dementia, depression and tremors. Mercury is absorbed into both the connective tissues and the nervous system, making its effects even more disastrous. By restricting the individual cells’ respiration enzymes, mercury keeps your cells from using oxygen. It can cause heart disease and suppress your immune system. Cleansing your body of mercury is the answer.

Mercury detoxification is the process by which mercury is eliminated from the body. The process is lengthy, often taking three to six months. The most common method for eliminating mercury is chelation therapy. Chelation therapy is introducing a binding agent into the body that grabs onto the mercury and causes it to be excreted with the body’s waste products. Both intravenous and oral chelation methods exist. The intravenous method is more costly and inconvenient, making the oral method the most popular.

While the intravenous method administers compounds directly into the blood stream, oral chelators can be purchased and administered to reduce mercury levels in the body. These will often contain a type of algea and cilantro, natural chelators, known for their ability to bind mercury, and other supplements to assist the body in eliminating mercury.

If you suspect that you have mercury in your body, be sure to check with a health professional on how best to eliminate the chemical from your body. Once you eliminate the mercury from your body, you can expect to feel improved brain power and concentration, increased energy and rejuvenated!

Alternative medicine is a type of therapeutic practice that is not considered to be a part of traditional or conventional medical treatment. People use alternative medicine instead of using traditional medical treatment. This is often because they feel it is a natural way to get better.

There are many types of alternative medicine. Some are covered by medical insurance, but most are not. Some forms of alternative medicine that may be covered are chiropractic and osteopathic therapy. These forms of alternative medicine are widely used.

There are other forms of alternative medicine that are not as widely used, but are becoming more popular by the minute. These are: massage therapy, therapeutic touch, folk medicine, herbal medicine, special diets, homeopathy, music therapy, aromatherapy, naturopathy, faith healing, and new age healing. There are also some non-western forms of alternative medicine such as: Chinese medicine, gi gong, reiki, and ayarveda.

There are some less commonly practiced forms of alternative medicine as well. One is called biofield therapy. This is a form of alternative medicine that works with your so called “energy fields” to heal you. Another is bioelectrical magnetic therapy. This alternative medicine uses pulse and magnetic fields to heal you.

Alternative medicine is quite popular for people who are terminally ill. Many AIDS and cancer patients prefer it. An example of this is a cancer patient who uses alternative medicine instead of receiving traditional chemotherapy or radiation therapy. People also use alternative medicine to heal ailments such as back pain or migraines. Instead of traditional painkillers, the patients would use aromatherapy, sound therapy or herbal therapy. Alternative medicine is even used on animals. Have you ever seen the movie “The Horse Whisperer?” That was about a form of alternative medicine used on an animal. Acupuncture, herbal therapy, and others have also been used on animals.

The last thing you should know is that there is no scientific evidence that alternative medicine is effective. There have been no scientific studies to prove if they are safe or if they work for the diseases or ailments they are used for. Before using an alternative medicine, talk to your doctor, make sure your doctor feels it is safe and will not harm you.

There are many different kinds of alternative medicines to choose from. Now that you understand it a bit better, you can decide if it is right for you. For more information talk to your doctor or research it online. With careful research, you may find one that is right for you.

Have you heard the term “wellness?” It has two contexts, one in alternative medicine and one in Western medicine.

In the alternative medicine world, wellness means taking care of yourself so you don’t get sick. Let’s find ways to avoid cancer, heart disease, mental illness. We can do this through changing our diet, exercising more, and changing our energy fields.

In Western medicine, we wait until we get one of these diseases, then we rush heroically to “beat the disease.” In Western medicine, the term wellness means “early detection” of disease. If you walk into a “Wellness Center” in a hospital, you’ll see mammogram screening rooms, MRI machines and other tools to scan for the existence of disease.

Is that wellness? To me, it’s not. Wellness is about staying well, it is about avoiding disease in the first place. When a person is told “You have cancer,” it is a major blow to their psyches, and their lives. Why go through that if you don’t have to? Why not do whatever you can to avoid that terrible day?

Western medicine treats the “pre-detection” part of life as a kind of random soup of nothingness. You can’t really do anything about any of these diseases, you just get them or you don’t. No rhyme or reason to it, it just hits you, and then you deal with it.

Genetics is a big factor in the Western medical model. If you get cancer, ah, well, it was in your genes that you’d get it. You see, your great grandfather had cancer, so it was inevitable that you’d get it too.

Huh? Unfortunately, Western medicine can’t explain why siblings get or don’t get diseases supposedly passed on from their parents. One sister dies of cancer at a 25 (because of genetics) and the other sister lives to be 100 (also genetics?).

For my part, I’m going to take the best care of myself possible, and not play a silly waiting game for disease.

Is your body a type of machine, like a car or a cell phone, or is it a living thing?

I know that’s seems like a weird question, but your answer to it determines whether you agree with the Western medical model or alternative medicine.

Western medicine increasingly sees our bodies as machines with interchangeable parts.

Heart isn’t working right?

Okay, we’ll get that damn thing replaced for you and rotate your tires while we’re at it.

Does that sound like a human body?

Here’s the problem, as I see it. There is no accumulation of substances that you can pile up to create life. Because life isn’t just stuff, it’s mostly relationships between stuff. That is to say, life is mostly due to fields. Electromagnetic fields and other types of fields. That’s what makes life.

Western medicine takes what is called a reductionist viewpoint of the body. That means, no matter what the illness, we can always just take things apart until we get to the “one thing” that caused the problem, the one defective part in the body-machine.
So, if something goes wrong in your life, some disease, condition or problem, you need to turn first to the fields to find out what happened. Then perhaps it will make sense to think about the substances and see what you can do there.

Machines are just piles of stuff. They aren’t dependent on any “field of life.” That’s silly. You just put the stuff together in the right way and the machine works. But human bodies (or any animals or plants) don’t work that way. We’ve tried it a million times, and whenever we try to create life synthetically with piles of stuff, we just can’t.

Many types of alternative medicine, including acupuncture, ayurveda, energy healing, etc., look at the fields first and try to correct them. Then you add substances (herbs, physical exercises, etc.) to round out the treatment. But they don’t start with the stuff. They start with the fields.

Our health problems often begin in the fields, called meridians in Chinese medicine or chakras in Indian medicine, moving into our physical body later. When a problem manifests in the body, it’s already late in the process. You can probably still do a lot by adjusting the fields, but you’ll also have to deal with the physical issues too.

But you might want to leave the dangerous, expensive treatments like drugs and surgery as a last resort. Doesn’t that make sense? If you’ve got a very powerful, but very deadly, treatment, wouldn’t you want to use that last rather than your first line of defense?

Complementary medicine and Alternative medicine are two different entities. Complementary medicine is used together with conventional medicine. An example would be the use of aromatherapy to help lessen a patient’s discomfort following surgery. Alternative medicine is used in place of conventional medicine. An example of this would be using a special diet to treat cancer, instead of undergoing surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy that has been recommended by a conventional doctor. There is also Intergrative medicine, which combines mainstream medical therapies and CAM therapies to treat a certain health condition. Note that there is usually high-quality scientific evidence of the effectiveness of the CAM therapy when it is used intergratively with conventional medicine.

There are five major categories of CAM and they are listed and defined below:

-Alternative Medical Systems

These are systems that are built on complete systems of theory and practice. The systems have usually evolved apart from and earlier than the conventional medical approach used in the U.S. Examples of alternative medical systems that have developed in the Western cultures include homeopathic medicine and naturopathic medicine. Examples of systems that have developed in non-Western cultures include traditional Chinese medicine and Ayurveda.

-Mind/Body Interventions

Mind-body medicine uses a variety of techniques designed to enhance the mind’s capacity to affect bodily function and symptoms. Some techniques that were considered CAM in the past have become mainstream (i.e., patient support groups and cognitive-behavioral therapy). Other mind-body techniques are still considered CAM, including meditation, prayer, mental healing, and therapies that are a creative outlet such as art, music, and dance.

-Biologically Based Therapies

These are therapies in CAM that use substances found in nature, such as herbs, foods, and vitamins. Some examples include dietary supplements, herbal products, and the use of other so-called natural but scientifically unproven therapies (for example, the use of shark cartilage to treat certain cancers).

-Manipulative and Body Based Methods

These methods, used in CAM, are based on manipulation and/or movement of one or more parts of the body. Some examples include chiropractic or osteopathic manipulation, and massage.

-Energy Therapies

Energy therapy involves the use of energy fields, and there are two types:

Biofield therapies are intended to affect energy fields that surround and penetrate the body. The existence of such fields has not yet been scientifically proven. Some forms of energy therapy manipulate biofields by applying pressure and/or manipulating the body by placing the hands in or through these fields. Examples include Qi Gong, Reiki, and Therapeutic Touch.

Bioelectromagnetic therapies involve the unconventional use of electromagnetic fields, such as pulsed fields, magnetic fields, or alternating-current or direct-current fields.

Complementary and Alternative medicine is a group of diverse medical and health care systems, practices, and products that are not presently considered to be part of conventional medicine. While some scientific evidence exists regarding some CAM therapies, for most there are key questions that are yet to be answered through well-designed scientific studies-questions such as whether these therapies are safe and whether they work for the diseases or medical conditions for which they are used. The list of what is considered to be CAM changes continually, as those therapies that are proven to be safe and effective become adopted into conventional health care.

Alternative and Conventional Medicines are the two main systems of healing in use today and the utmost caution should be taken to choose wisely.

Being healthy is of crucial importance in the life of everyone. I do not believe that there is anyone who relishes the anguish of disease. Without health you cannot function properly in any area of your life.

Whether enjoying the normal faculties of life or mentally unbalanced, every person would rather be perfectly healthy than endure the tortures of pain, sickness and disease, but there comes a time when we must seek medical help.

It is unfortunate that instead of healing the sick, very often some medicines interfere with the natural process of healing, resulting in additional suffering and further deterioration of health.

In ancient times, illness was cured by the use of herbs and other natural therapies which always proved very effective. Today, those same therapies as well as modern discoveres based on those of ancient times are referred to as alternative medicine and the public has been brainwashed into believing that the treatments are worthless; yet, many diseases that have been deemed ‘incurable’ are being healed by alternative means but, unfortunately, these cures have never been heard of by countless sufferers.

What is called conventional medicine (also referred to as mainstream, standard, allopathic or orthodox medicine), is man-made synthetic drugs that were not in existence in ancient times. Interestingly, so many diseases were not around in those days as there are today.

The main difference between the two systems is that alternative medicine is concerned about the prevention of disease and pays attention to and deals with the cause by treating the body as a whole. It focuses on preventing disease before it starts. It views the presence of disease as an imbalance of the emotional, mental and physical state of a person and endeavors to support and strengthen the immune system by natural means.

Alternative medicine contends that the body is naturally able to heal itself and remain stable - known in medicine as homeostasis.

On the other hand, conventional medicine is not concerned with preventing disease but rather with using synthetic drugs to cure an already established ailment. It is more interested in treating just the symptoms of disease by scientific techniques and technology instead of treating the whole person.

Many conventional drugs are said to have the potential to damage the liver and kidneys, and cause mental depression, heart falure, cancer and other adverse side effects. Now, if that is so, why are they still being manufactured and sold to the public? Where is the concern for public health and safety?

Note that since the introduction of conventional medicine, instead of there being greater relief from illness, there has been an exponential surge of diseases wreaking havoc in the lives of unsuspecting mortals. Why is this so?

If conventional medicine were the answer to health problems, why are there so many more diseases prevalent today? The interesting thing is that a name is readily given to each new disease and some form of synthetic remedy is quickly manufactured for sale!

Conventional medicine has been so well advertised that the public is convinced that it is the only way they can get relief from devastating illnesses. They jump at the announcement of any new supposedly super healing conventional medicine and with no hesitation embark upon treating themselves. This is especially so in the case of weight loss.

The sad thing is that no real cure is realized from these, whereas there are natural remedies that have been proven to cure. I can personally attest to certain cures that I have experienced through the use of natural remedies.

It is well known that some drug manufacturers have had to withdraw their dangerous medication because of the likelihood of patients suffering heart attack and stroke. Most synthetic drugs, if not all, have dangerous side effects of which the public is unaware. Some are very detrimental to unborn babies. So why are these drugs still being sold and at such exorbitant prices?

The general public is not sufficiently made aware of the dangers of conventional drugs. For obvious reasons, no attempt to do so is made by those who should educate the unwary and encourage the use of alternative medicine.

Obviously, if disease is prevented by natural means before resulting in the breakdown of the immune system which is the body’s mechanism of defence against illness, serious diseases such as cancer and other so-called incurable diseases would be revented, and so there would be little need for the administration of expensive conventional medicine since that would be necessary only in case of surgery and other traumatic conditions.

Sad to say, it is reported that nutritional supplements as well as some alternative medicines packaged by some unscrupulous manufacturers are not quite what their labels indicate, and that the potency is far below what is required to be effective. This is not to suggest that they are toxic, but rather that they are not quite as effective as they should be.

If this is so, my personal feeling is that such persons should be exposed and their names posted in full view for all to see. This should curb that undesirable practice. One must therefore be very cautious when choosing nutritional supplements as well as alternative medicines.

Another point that I think worthy of note is about products so readily put on the skin. Most of them are formulated with harmful synthetic substances that get into the blood stream and invariably cause dangerous side effects. As it is said, what you would not eat, you should not put on your skin.

Remember that the skin absorbs and cannot differentiate between synthetic chemicals and natural substances. You may not see the adverse effects now, but years later your skin would speak for itself. You do not want to look older than your age, do you? Then do not poison yourself with the topical application of toxic skin products.

No one should be so busy so as not be able to find time to learn about the natural substances that they could take to protect their own bodies and prevent diseases. Many thousands of persons might have been alive today if only they had known, and had been encouraged to use natural remedies.

I enjoy reading to find out about ancient formulas and treatments that have resurfaced today, as well as new discoveries of natural healing methods and remedies that are gaining momentum amongst health conscious persons.

Ï have collected lots of information on herbal remedies. Among them are such topics as heart health the natural way, aromatherapy essential oils, homeopathy, beautiful skin care, skin diseases, healing for conditions such as acne, hemorrhoids, eczema, etc., weightloss, and many other natural health remedies and detailed information on how to make your own from nature’s herbs, vitamins and nutrients.

Many persons seem to be convinced that natural remedies made by God do not have the efficacy of the synthetic remedies made by man!

God who made this world has said “the leaves of the trees for healing of the nations.” God is truth and cannot lie. Isn’t it time that we took Him at his word?

Why should we put our trust in Satan and his lies and put no confidence in God and His truth?

Since there seems to be no confidence in what God has made, Why don’t we make our own water, sunshine, trees, and fresh air? Why do we walk upon God’s earth? We should make our own basic items to concoct synthetic remedies instead of corrupting the things that God has made.

You can seek relief from disease either through natural alternative medicine by which you can maintain good health and save; or, through conventional medicine with its ill effects of costly synthetic prescription drugs at the risk of further deterioration of your health. It is up to you to prevent poisoning yourself, avoid unnecessary pain and suffering, and be healthy.

Keep this in mind:

If you really want to fight disease, Natural Medicine is the Healthy Choice; But, if you’d rather be deceased, Synthetic Medicine might be the Deadly Choice!!

The alternative medicine of Love is a great Healer. Often times when a child is sick, a Mother doesn’t know where to turn other than to allopathic medicine. Complementary to and integrated with traditional medical treatments and procedures is love. There have been many “miraculous” turn arounds and healings that have been supported by a caregiver or family member who thru love have held hope and belief that the patient will get well against all the odds. A caregiver’s loving touch, prayers and contribution to a positive environment and positive attitudes can help change the course of an illness. Below are some suggestions to help facilitate healing in someone you love.

As a caregiver, you can learn ways to help your “patient’s” environment, which in turn contributes to their well-being. The environment that surrounds a sick person takes on the energy of those people that participate in the patient’s healing journey. It is imperative to have all those that are working towards the health of the patient to have a positive “can do” attitude. Even unspoken dismay and disbelief permeates the patient’s and the environment’s energy field, and contributes negative energy that cancels a positive atmosphere. Holding a positive loving attitude creates a subliminal environmental energy support system that inspires the desire to live and to have better health.

Unless medically prohibited, plants help an environment, as do cheerful colors, soothing music, prayer and laughter. Laughter therapy is rapidly gaining ground as a healing modality, like positive attitudes. Create a happy book, wall, or poster board with fun pictures to contribute to positive mental health that assists healing. The power of laughter and positive attitudes both trigger the brain to create chemicals that cause the body to create better immune system responses which is critical when combating illness.

On a physical level, a caregiver can use their love to help the patient’s health. (Information for this exercise: you receive energy with your left hand and send energy if you are right handed, and the reverse if you are left handed.) If you are right handed, placing your left hand on your heart and your right hand on the patient’s left hand state: “Thru the Love of my heart I send you my life force energy to do with as you so choose on your healing journey.” This honors the patient’s journey, whether it is being physically cured or healing thru transition.

Another technique is to hold the ball of the patient’s feet in the palm of your hands and state: “I send you my life force energy to use as you so choose, and it is my intent to remove any and all excess, unnecessary, toxic, pain and unhealthy energy and to replace that energy with the physically healing, pain free energy of the Christ White Light (or the Universe, or whatever power source that you acknowledge). So be it, it is done.” This helps the patient to become more balanced and stabilized. It has shown great results.

Alternative medicines are considered to be new age products. Ancient oriental traditional medicine blended with rudiments of the scholastic medicine of our western world seem to have proven it’s own right. Just look how many people are searching for these alternative treatment methods. We’re going to take a look at a few of them here.

Acupuncture

The use of acupuncture dates back more than 2,000 years. This is a traditional medicine used in Japan, China, and other Eastern countries. The use of acupuncture is beneficial in that it stimulates areas of the body that have a direct correlation to internal organs. By placing fine needles into specific points, the body is encouraged to promote natural healing, improve function, and provide an overall boost to your system. When these needles are inserted, they go into Meridians, which are channels, somewhat like streams within the body. Just as there might be a boulder sitting in a stream blocking the flow of water, it can be the same for the channels of blood in your system. Acupuncture helps to remove these obstacles by providing stimulation, thus improving health.

Biofeedback

Biofeedback is a method used to help blood pressure, muscle tension, heart rate, brain activity, and other bodily functions. Basically, biofeedback is a painless system that is hooked up to your body and then through electrical signals received from tightening of your muscles, you would be able to receive those signals by a light telling you that you are tightening your muscles. This in turn trains you to be aware of when you are bringing on stress and to help you identify when you need to relax your body. Biofeedback is very successful and can be used for migraine headaches, chronic pain, high blood pressure, epilepsy, and much more, which can occur when you tense up.

Therapeutic Massage

You might be thinking, “what does getting a massage do for my health other than to make me feel good?” Actually, therapeutic massage has many benefits. For example, it can help alleviate pain, reduce stress, and promote good health. When a person gets a therapeutic massage, they are actually getting the benefit of function improvement with circulatory, muscular, skeletal, nervous systems, lymphatic, and can even help the body heal after an illness or injury. Depending on what the specific health issue is, there is a Swedish Massage, which is a more relaxing massage good for headaches, back stress, and muscle cramps, Pressure Point Therapy, helpful for some injuries as well as circulation problems, headache and muscle tension, insomnia, anxiety, and more.

Finally, Sports Massage focuses on muscle groups used for different sports. Licensed masseuse can help with the issues mentioned as well as allergies, arthritis, asthma, carpal tunnel syndrome, depression, digestive disorders, myofascial pain, limited range of motion, sinusitis, and TMJ. The next time you tell someone you are going to get a massage, you can simply explain that it is for the benefit of your health.
